If People Had . . .

If people had a personality more like dogs the world would be so much simpler. I mean just look at dogs, they’re always happy to see you and are never disappointed. They’re always positive and help you through the toughest of times. Some dogs are even nicer than some people.

“A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.” – Josh Billings

I think dogs are like this because they see you for you, there’s no beforehand judging or negative thoughts, they just see a person. Someone who’s there to play with or be with them. They don’t have the idea, ” oh this person is weird or doesn’t like a certain thing. So, I won’t be friendly to them.” They simply just go towards you and say look new friend.

I always thought you can tell a lot about a person by how a friendly dog approaches or interacts with them. I mean when you have the nicest dog in the world who is friendly with everyone and all of a sudden a new person is introduced and they get scared, something has to be up. Another thing I believe is you can tell how people treat others by how they treat dogs or pets in general.

Dogs also know when to make you feel better, when you’re not at your best and down in the dumps. They’ll hop onto the sofa, sit on your lap, and give you all of their attention.

They even make the best bonds in the world with you. They are the best friend you have at home. Some people think it’s quite odd, how when a dog passes away the family gets sad because it’s just a dog. But the truth is why wouldn’t you get said, you’ve had them for the longest of time and it just doesn’t feel the same once they’re gone. I know this personally because my dog passed away last year and it was tough. There’s no longer the pitter patter of feet by the back door, the barking at cats, or the usual routine of placing more dog food in the morning.

That’s why I feel dogs deserve the attention they get and a good life.
